Griggs of Hythe

Griggs of Hythe are purveyors of the very best quality fresh and smoked fish. Their boats  bring in daily catches of the best fresh fish from The English Channel. They fish using sustainable techniques where at all possible to ensure kindness to the environment.

“You name it we’ve got it.” I had no reason to disagree with Andy Cook on the day I visited Griggs’s. They had a large selection of fantastically fresh ‘summer’ fish, including dabs, Dover soles, cuttlefish, sea bass, gurnard, turbot and brill; in winter they land red mullet, conger, Pollock, cod and whiting, all of it straight off the boats that pull up on to the beach outside their large shed. They also have Whitstable oysters, local cockles, a wide selection of shellfish and they smoke their own fish too" - Rick Stein
